Cynthia H. Groh-Hudik, R.N.
Irving Crown High class of 81, passed away on Monday morning, April 4, 2011, she was 47.
Beloved wife of Sherman staffer and Elgin firefighter Dave Hudik and mother to Nick and Jake, Cindy passed away at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Chicago on May 14, 1963 and was a resident of the Carpentersville area for the past 21 years. Cindy was a 1989 graduate of the ECC School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Sherman Hospital for 29 years prior to her illness. Cindy was a CCD teacher and member of St. Monica Church in Carpentersville and a member of the McHenry County Home School Group.
Survivors include; her husband of 18 years, David H. Hudik, whom she married on Sept. 26, 1992; their sons, Nick and Jake, both at home; her father, Paul Groh of Cherry Valley; her mother, Mary Ann Groh of Schaumburg; her siblings, Pam (Keith) Phelps, Paul H. Groh, Rich Groh, Donna (Brad) Garey and Mike Groh; her mother-in-law, Loretta Hudik; and many nieces, nephews and countless good and faithful friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her father-in-law, Harry Hudik.
