Meadowdale and Carpentersville
Little League
Welcome to the Carpentersville Memories Little League Page. Our goal is to bring back some fun memories of growing up in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
We bring back Memories you didn’t know you had
What was Little League like way back in the olden days?
Where did you learn to play baseball? If you lived in Carpentersville, any time since the early 1960’s, it was either the Carpentersville or Meadowdale Little League. If you have any Little League images or video to share please contact us.
The Meadowdale and Carpentersville Little League
Two separate Little League organizations, Meadowdale and Carpentersville. They each had their own fields and administration. Meadowdale played in a very nice field near Meadowdale Elementary and the Community Center. The Carpentersville teams played on various fields mostly in the park between Kings Road Elementary, Perry Middle School and Crown High.
I played in the Carpentersville Little League between 1964 and 1971, Minors, Majors and Seniors, from the age of 7 until I was 14. What I remember most are the coaches, Woodhouse, Berger, Ptack, Preis, Admire, Windholz, and so many more. I went on to coach many Little League teams over the years myself.
Little League in Carpentersville was a huge part of my life and my summer and I will never forget the wonderful times we had playing baseball.
