Did You Participate in the Fox Valley Music Festival?

The Fox Valley Music Festival

This festival was created by local musical directors. They wanted students to have an outlet to sing and play with like-minded participants. The idea was to gather students who are in a similar age group. Their goal was have students who wanted to work hard to advance in their discipline.

The first festival was held on May 4, 1928. The location was at St. Charles High School. Ten valley high schools participated. This grew into a larger gathering of all schools. Invited students sang or played musical instruments. The best of the best were the invitees. Guest conductors with high credentials were invited to work with the students. They, in return, obtained an unforgettable experience.

The festival has occurred every year, but two. The first happened during World War II; the second one, due to Covid. The festival will continue when it is safe to do so.
