George ‘Skip’ Smetana Jr.
Irving Crown High class of 76, passed away on October 28, 2008, he was 50.
George Joseph “Skip” Smetana Jr., former Algonquin resident, died in Estacada, Oregon Oct. 28, 2008 as a result of an airplane accident.
Skip was a 1976 graduate of Irving Crown High.
Skip was born Aug. 5, 1958, in Chicago and owned Energy Wise Insulation in Illinois before moving in 2001 to Estacada, where he was a self-employed contractor.
He was the beloved son of Mary Smetana and the late George Joseph Sr.; loving father of Amber Lynn and Lorin Ann; brother of Teri Smetana and Kathi (Rudi) Freiberger; nephew of Ron and Sandra Smetana; uncle of Matthew and Gina Lupella, Anthony Smetana, Bahnt, Rudi, Codi and Brennen Freiberger; special friend to Debbie Ingamells.
