This location is a chain with four locations; fondly called simply the Squire. One location is in West Dundee. George and Paul Karas have owned and operated this the location since 1974.

The Village Squire
This is located in the former home of Hal Thurnau’s Swiss Chalet. When the Village Squire did a renovation, the sign held a secret. Village Squire had used the Swiss Chalet sign and just covered it up.
Started in 1968 with Chris and Jim (see news article below), in 1974 the Karas brothers George and Paul took the lead. The family (other family members have joined the team) own four locations under this name and several other local establishments. Usually each location has at least one family member present.
